Club Timeline

1946
Oak Ridge Camera Club (ORCC) meets January 16 at Midtown Recreation Hall.
Members: OR, Military, AEC, X-10.
Tennessee Eastman Company Camera Club (TEC CC) meets at Oak Ridge High School February 20.
Y-12 provides club headquarter and darkroom at Y-12 East Portal Building in December.
1947
Carbide Camera Club (CCC) for K-25 employees starts February 4 at ORHS.
Union Carbide new contractor for Y-12 in May, TEC CC and CCC merge.
1948
Joint annual meeting of CCC, ORCC and Cinema Club at Central Dining Room on February 3. The first Salon!
Union Carbide adds management of ORNL in July, CCC invites ORNL employees to join.
1954
Last meeting of ORCC in May.
1961
CCC moves to new club quarters at Cheyenne Hall.
1967
The Salon opens at Oak Ridge 25th Anniversary Headquarters in June. First Color Print Division in a Salon.
1969
First Salon at Oak Ridge Community Art Center (ORCAC) opens in September.
1984
Martin Marietta manages the plants, name change to Martin Marietta Camera Club (MMCC).
Darkroom and meetings move to ORCAC.
1995
Company merger, name change to Lockheed Martin Camera Club (LMCC).
1996
Darkroom moves to ORHS.
1998
50th Salon “The Art of Photography” opens in November at ORCAC.
2000
Management changes lead to club independence under the new name Camera Club of Oak Ridge (CCOR). Membership is open to everybody.
2001
Club meetings move to Roane State Community College in August.
2005
New Salon Division: Digital Images Displayed Digitally.
2006
Last color slides in the Salon.
2009
Salon opens at the Children's Museum in October. Non-Members can enter for the first time.

2010
Y-12 New Hope Center becomes the venue for the Salon.
2015
First Salon print exhibition at AMSE
